Kasthoori speaks to the media

After a long time, Kasthoori has done a small role in Malai Malai and has danced for a Kuthu song in the film Tamizh Padam. While speaking to the media, she said,” It is true. After ten years I am stepping my feet in Tamil cinema once again.

I am really happy about it and moreover this is freedom time for me, because I have come back to acting after a long time and I can act in any roles. There was time when there was lot of restrictions in acting. Now I have confidence that I can act in challenging roles. This is the time I should prove myself. There is a question that what I have been doing in the time when I was out of acting. I kept away from acting for the past ten years. But I was working behind the screen.

I produced three films. I was the one who produced the film T N 07 AL 4777 for G V Films. I was in America for four years. When I came back to India, I got the opportunity to act in Malai Malai. Now I have once again stepped into cinema. Currently I am acting in two Tamil films, a Malayalam film and a Telugu film. I am getting lot of offers to act in Tamil films. I am listening to lot of stories.

I am donning the vamp role in Kalaignar’s Ilaignan which has Pa Vijay in the lead role. Many are asking me whether vamp role would suit me. ‘Padaiyappa’ Neelambari and ‘Uyir” Sangeetha have earned good names among the audience. Audience expects changes from us. So I think my fans will accept me. If they accept me, then I will rock in vamp roles.”
