Genelia says that she has not attended IIFA

There was news that Genelia had participated in the IIFA held at Sri Lanka along with her lover Ritesh Deshmukh. Genelia denied this news. She said,” Though I debuted in Hindi only Tamil films gave me a break.

I became popular because of Tamil films. Even now I am acting with Dhanush in Utthamaputhiran. I will also be pairing with Vijay in the film Velayudham directed by Raja. When the situation is like this, how can I participate in a function that is boycotted by Tamil film industry? I respect the sentiments of Tamil cinema and fans.

I will never go against the decision they make. I got the invitation for me to dance in that function. I boycotted that. Without consulting me somebody is spreading such rumors.”
